I’m quite a big women, 20 years old & about to get married. Me & my fiance’ have talked about the fact i haven’t fallen pregnant yet. We have been together two and a half years, we have used no birth control and no condoms. My question is, are there other curvy women out there that are classified as overweight that had trouble conceiving and if you eventually did conceive, was there something special in a medical way which helped you conceive or any fairly naturally solutions which you could suggest?
sorry i should have mentioned that i have been diagnosed with PCOS, was diagnosed at like 13. Have had terribly irregular periods but i was on the pill until about 18months ago because i felt really badly effected by it emotionally & physically (put on weight, very severe mood swings etc). So to ROC & your questions, yes sex is regular but no periods are not! and to OKIE i had never actually thought about insulin levels but i will definately check them out the next time the subject comes up with my GP.

being heavy does not mean you are infertile. 2 1/2 years of unprotected sex could mean that there is an issue. but this also depends on two major things:
1) how often are you having sex? if it is 3-4 times a week on a regular basis then you probably should have conceived. but if you guys are not having regular sex then it is no big deal. ovulation only happens once a month which means then that you are only fertile for about 3-5(maybe 7) days.
2) are your periods regular? if your periods are irregular more than a 5 day difference from cycle to cycle then you may have pcos. do you have any other symptoms of pcos?
also it may not be you. 40% of subfertile couples have male issues.
